Me and Jon have often discussed what we would do if one of our staple characters behaved completely opposite of the image we gave them in The Dugout. Well, we really never came up with a good answer.

I’m not comfortable completely ignoring the issue, maybe saying that Thome was yelling to save a small puppy or whatever trash I would have come up with. Thome’s a nice guy in The Dugout because he’s a nice guy in real life. This was a rare slip up that definitely doesn’t portray either character correctly, so I took that route.

The suspension’s not even a big deal. Guillen was giving him the night off anyway. Still sucks to see one of your favorite guys fly off the handle.
