Home, sweet home: James Shields is glad to be pitching at home (where his ERA last season was 2.59 compared with 4.82 on the road). He said he built confidence in his last start (seven scoreless innings in a victory at Baltimore).

Comeback Colon: Bartolo Colon, 35, who won the Cy Young award while with the Angels in 2005, is trying to make a comeback from injuries. He looked sharp in his first start, pitching six scoreless innings in a win over the Twins.

Matchups: Pat Burrell is 4-for-14 against Colon, Carl Crawford 6-for-26 and Carlos Pe?a 6-for-25 with 14 strikeouts.
