--RHP Jose Contreras will get at least one more chance to try and get out of his season-long rut, but Thursday against Detroit might be his last start. "Just give him the next start and then we figure out," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "We talk about Jose more than anyone the last couple weeks. That's the conversation of the day. Hopefully, like I say earlier, the stuff is there. There's no doubt. Maybe a lack of concentration, maybe a bad mistake at the wrong time. He made one mistake, and all of a sudden, everything goes south. He can't recover from that. We have to be better than that."
--OF Scott Podsednik started all three games for the Sox since being called up on Friday, and while he has played well in the brief stint, manager Ozzie Guillen made sure that Sox fans aren't turning back the clock and thinking it's 2005 all over again. "I know a lot of people in Chicago who are excited about Podsednik," Guillen said. "What Podsednik did was nice. He's going to bring a lot of life and good things for the club. But people in Chicago should take it easy. They get excited about (this stuff). So what? We need him for a long time. I got a couple e-mails like 'This is the best move you ever make.'
