--INF Jayson Nix was back in the starting lineup Tuesday, hitting leadoff and also homering, but without question, manager Ozzie Guillen is continuing to change the look of his starting lineup with the hopes of finding a unit that will click together. That means Alexei Ramirez was back on the bench, and DH Jim Thome, who batted fifth over the weekend and sixth Monday, was moved to the cleanup spot. RF Jermaine Dye, the No. 4 hitter Saturday and Sunday, batted third Tuesday after hitting fifth Monday.
--OF Scott Podsednik rejoined his teammates in Cleveland on Tuesday after the birth of his first child on Sunday. Podsednik and his wife, Lisa, had a baby girl, and Podsednik missed a few games. He arrived to find himself in the center field spot, hitting ninth. --LHP Clayton Richard was named the new starting pitcher Sunday, and he will make the start Wednesday in Cleveland, after Jose Contreras was lifted from the rotation following another shaky outing on Friday. "Any time you get an opportunity, you want to make the best of it and give them an opportunity to keep you there," Richard said of the news. "Hopefully, I can go out there and throw well and do what I'm capable of. You just try to put your team in position to get a win." While manager Ozzie Guillen said last week that he hadn't been impressed with Richard out of the bullpen this season, the White Sox are really limited on who else they could choose. "This kid is going to be our future," Guillen said. "This kid is going to be starting in a couple of years. He's the best one in the bullpen right now for that role."
