Chicago White Sox Notes, Quotes 2008-05-30
--2B Danny Richar returned from an injury-rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte. The White Sox reinstated the infielder from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Charlotte. Richar, 24, was placed on the disabled list March 29 with a fractured left rib. He batted .185 (5-for-27) with one home run, two RBIs and five walks in seven games on his rehab assignment with the Knights. Richar hit his first homer Wednesday night in a 6-3 loss at Rochester.

--Manager Ozzie Guillen was hoping the lineup change he made two weeks ago would be a temporary one, but on Thursday he admitted that he will be sticking with it for a while. It was in Anaheim that Guillen made A.J. Pierzynski his No. 2 hitter, Carlos Quentin his third hitter, while Jim Thome and Paul Konerko were moved down.

--RHP Bobby Jenks grabbed his 101st career save Wednesday, putting him third on the all-time franchise list. He is the only Sox reliever to record 40 saves or more in back-to-back seasons.

--RHP Mike MacDougal may have a new role -- trade bait. Numerous teams around the league are hurting for relief help, and with the Sox bullpen on cruise control so far, MacDougal's services may no longer be needed. It doesn't help his value, however, that he is 0-2 with a 5.56 ERA at Class AAA Charlotte. If he can get some consistency, the Sox may move him by July.

--The Sox bullpen continued to dominate on Thursday with three more innings of scoreless ball. The bullpen has not allowed a run in nine straight games over 27 innings pitched.

--SS Orlando Cabrera and manager Ozzie Guillen still have not had any dialogue. Guillen was upset about Cabrera calling the press box to complain about errors credited to him by the official scorer. Cabrera feels Guillen did not show support for him.

BY THE NUMBERS: 14 -- The number of ejections manager Ozzie Guillen has been hit with in his four-plus years of being the Sox skipper.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "You argue with the umpires, you aren't going to win it. You're not. We keep arguing, but it's not a winning situation. But you've got to let them know we're here." -- Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, on his season-long battles with major-league umpires.
